Matatag. Maasahan. Huwaran. As Santiagueños, we have capitalized from these intrinsically positive values in governing our city and our people especially this time of pandemic. The complex and interconnected impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has shocked every locality — big and small all over the world. The need for an immediate response, the restriction of community quarantine, imminent danger of viral transmission, the colossal impact to business and economy – are all essential elements of survival. It was an insurmountable challenge, but as one community, we have survived.
Santiagueño Disiplinado, COVID-19 Kaya Natin! has served as our blueprint in combating the impact of the pandemic. Anchored on discipline and character, we have recalibrated existing systems, used real-time information, and provided familiar platforms to efficiently cascade our BESPREN Thematic Programs down to the barangays and to every household.
Isa pong napakalaking pagsubok ang pandemya ngunit tayo ay nanindigan na lumaban. Gumawa tayo ng paraan na maipatupad ang mga programa at proyekto kahit nasa gitna tayo ng krisis. Nagbaba rin tayo ng mga panibagong serbisyo na tumutugon sa mga pangangailangan ng bagong normal. Pinatatag natin ang mekanismo ng pagseserbisyo upang maprotektahan ang bawat Santiagueño. Sa taong 2020, mayroon tayong 304,627 na nabigyan ng serbisyo. Ibig sabihin, ang bawat pamilyang Santiagueño ay nakatanggap ng mahigit anim na klase ng serbisyo mula sa ating Pamahalaang Lungsod gaya ng serbisyong pang-edukasyon at literasiya, pangkalusugan, pang-agrikultura, para sa mga nanay, kabataan, nakatatanda at marami pang iba.
This State of Local Governance Report (SLGR) is an affirmation of our passion in providing quality services to our people, especially those who are most in need. I salute our Sangguniang Panlungsod headed by Vice Mayor Alvin N. Abaya for its honor and commitment in supporting our undertakings.
